Heavy Lifting for Pitchers

I've been training some high school baseball pitchers and the subject of heavy lifting and increased pitching velocity came up.  Whereas some coaches are in the long toss camp and some are in the weighted ball camp the real "fussin and fightin" comes in when you mention the role of strength training.  I think there have been enough studies to support the heavy lifters but you decide.

But even though protein needs are greater for the strength training population there are much cheaper and better alternatives. Eggs are still misunderstood by many but provide tremendous nutritional value and remain the benchmark by many scientist for judging other foods.
